Description: "Open Studio" is essentially a time in which the ceramics room is open for students to continue ceramic artwork from their classes or create ceramic work of their own interest outside of class assignments. Students do not need to be enrolled in a Ceramics class to attend open studio, but a working knowledge of the process of ceramics is expected. Instruction is not specifically provided, however Mr. Fader is happy to assist and encourage the development of your artistic pursuits.
Open Studio is also a great time for those learning to "throw on the potter's wheel". Throwing is a skill takes considerable time and practice to achieve. This is not a class on throwing, but those who show a genuine interest in learning can expect some guidance and will be rewarded with a valuable ceramic skill set. Anyone interested in learning to throw should see Mr. Fader to schedule a time to start.
All students staying for Open Studio are expected to clean up after themselves. As a rule of thumb, "leave it cleaner than you found it". It is also expected that all tools and materials will be handled properly and returned to their storage areas after use. Anyone acting irresponsibly or leaving a big mess during Open Studio will not be allowed to return.
